AGM May15th at 1030

Open Day July 30th at 1030

May is the month of our AGM.        The Committee look forward to your attendance and support. We seek to serve all plot holders not only Association members, but please join us as your subscription will help us achieve our dreams. In order to obtain financial help from charities for a project, we must be able to advance a substantial sum, usually 50% of the cost, ourselves. If you are already a member please ensure that you have paid this year’s subscription otherwise you will have no vote at the AGM. Your Committee does not get any  younger new ideas and new blood would be most welcome. Please speak to Mike if you can help.

Most sadly we have thefts to report. Four large bags of compost have been taken from one plot, a wheelbarrow from another and asparagus plants from a third. Were these taken by fellow plot holders? We sincerely hope not. In the bad old Victorian times the culprit would have been lynched. Today we can only apply immediate termination of tenancy and consequent loss of any crops. It is perhaps more likely that they were taken by an intruder, so it behoves us to be more vigilant with locking the site gate. Car drivers need to be particularly careful. Please always lock the gate before you park the car and on leaving drive the car to the gate before unlocking it. This may be slightly inconvenient, but it will greatly reduce the chances of an intruder sneaking in. It will be a little less bothersome  if you keep your site keys separately from your car keys.

After the late start the flowering trees and shrubs have given us a magnificent display, but what on earth happened to the April showers. It will be necessary to water, but remember, water established plants heavily but seldom, seeds and seedlings little and often.

Many of our plots have lost their numbers. It would be very helpful to your committee and to the Council if you could ensure that your plot is clearly numbered with the number on your invoice. The number should be to the left of the path which you maintain and if you wish on your shed.
